Dieck Castle

Haus Dieck is a listed secular building in Westkirchen, a district of Ennigerloh in the Warendorf district (North Rhine-Westphalia).

The manor house with its rent office, gatehouse, and rear garden stands on a former moated island. The complex was owned by Conrad de Dyke in 1276. The manor house stands on a cellar plinth; it was built in 1771 with a three-sided central risalit and a mansard hip roof. The weather-exposed sides are solidly built of plastered quarry stone, while the east and garden sides are made of plastered half-timbering. The central risalit is accessed by a double-flight staircase, and above the portal is the coat of arms of the von der Recke and von Hanxleden families. In the curved gable top, the dial ring of a former clock is preserved. Inside, the room sequence has remained unchanged since the 18th century.

The half-timbered gatehouse was built in 1746, extended in 1760, and expanded with the north wing (Jägerei). The half-timbering of the old manor house and the rent office is filled with bricks. In the former spacious garden stands a garden house from the end of the 18th century, which was altered at the beginning of the 19th century. In front of the gatehouse stands a sandstone Immaculata from the mid-18th century, which was restored in 1982.
