Frau von Stein Palace

The palace was built between 1770 and 1773, initially as stables for the ducal hussars. From 1776, it served as the residence of the Barons von Stein.

The building is an outstanding example of Baroque architecture. The facade, richly decorated with sculptures and ornaments, reflects the artistic demands of its time. Inside, magnificent stucco ceilings and wall paintings bear witness to the former splendor.

Over the centuries, the building has been the scene of numerous historical events. It housed important personalities and witnessed political decisions that shaped the region. Today, it is a living monument that tells stories of bygone eras.

Today, the historic building houses a museum that presents the history of the city and the region. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the magnificent rooms and learn more about the former inhabitants. Regular special exhibitions and events enrich the cultural offerings.
