Bisping Castle

Bisping Castle

To be privately owned

Haus Bisping is a moated castle near Rinkerode in Münsterland, a district of Drensteinfurt.

Today, only parts of the moats and the gatehouse from 1651 remain. The gatehouse shows the design, common in Münsterland, of red brick and yellow sandstone window frames.

The von Galen family owned the castle since the 16th century; the Prince-Bishop of Münster, Christoph Bernhard von Galen, was born there.

Within sight is the completely preserved moated castle Haus Borg.
