Vielist Manor

The estate was for a long time owned by the Wangelin family. After this, ownership partially changed to the Erlenkamp family in 1674, completely to Baron Hans Erlenkamp in 1682, and to the von Meyenn family in 1756. In 1789, they built the current manor house as a timber-framed building on old foundations and cellars. After this, ownership changed to Eduard Waldemar Weber in 1896. In 1945, the estate was expropriated by the communists. After 1945, the house was used as a registry office, post office, and mayor's residence. A concept to renovate this historic building in style in cooperation with the monument protection authorities by 2006 failed. Subsequent owners, however, enabled a gradual renovation of the manor house, which is now inhabited again.
