Tannepöls Manor

The Tannepöls Manor House was built by the Werner-Schlemmer-Bauer family at the end of the 18th century. From then until its expropriation in 1953, arable farming and livestock breeding were the focus of the family business. Political pressure forced the Bauer family to flee to the West – the estate became an agricultural production cooperative.

As early as spring 1989, the then owner Fritz Bauer sought the restitution of the dilapidated property. With success: The manor house was renovated from the ground up and the garden, neglected for decades, was brought back to life. The property was declared a cultural monument.

In January 1994, the Hotel and Estate Tannepöls opened its doors. From the outset, the hotel was managed by Hanna Bauer, Fritz Bauer's wife.

Further renovation and conversion work in 2004 and 2005 expanded the usage possibilities at Gut Tannepöls to include a market and an academy. Both facilities are managed by Reinhard Bauer, the son of Hanna and Fritz Bauer.
