Stolpe Manor

The manor house was rebuilt on the site of a burnt-down monastery, probably in the mid-17th century, by Count Steenbock, Major General of Swedish Pomerania. In the mid-19th century, the estate came into the possession of the von Bülow family, who mostly leased it out. Ursula von Maltzan, who was adopted by Hans von Bülow, married Kurt Stürken in 1926 and managed the estate until the end of World War II. After their forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, the estate was converted into a state-owned farm and used as a boarding school for LPG apprentices. Kurt Stürken was able to reacquire his parents' property in 1994 and, after extensive restoration in 1998, established a hotel.
