Spotendorf was owned by Heinrich Frese in 1284. In 1286, ownership transferred to the city of Rostock. The manor house was built around 1870 in neoclassical style with a park to the north, and the estate grounds with a pond surrounded by boulders to the south. Until his murder by the communists in 1945, the estate was owned by Dr. Albrecht Wendhausen, who was involved in the Kapp Putsch during the Weimar Republic.
Around 1900, the roof facade was extended by two additional dormers. A beautiful barn is still preserved today, so that the former estate grounds can still be experienced. Since 1992, the manor house has been back in private ownership.
