Gründung und frühe Jahre
Im 16. Jahrhundert wurde das Gut als Hauptlandgestüt des Herzogtums Mecklenburg-Schwerin von den Herzöge von Mecklenburg-Schwerin gegründet. Später wechselte der Besitz an die Familie Rehm und 1939 an Carl Gustav Oertel. 1945 wurden die Besitzer durch die Kommunisten zwangsenteignet. 1996-1998 erfolgte eine Renovierung der Gebäude und die Neugestaltung der Außenanlagen. Heute ist der Besitz wieder in den Händen der Familie Oertel.
