The manor house was built around 1900. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.

The Early Years and the von Barnekow Family

For centuries, it was owned by the noble von Barnekow family, who significantly shaped the development of the village and the estate. The current manor house, however, was built much later, at the turn of the 20th century, under the direction of a wealthy merchant family from Stettin.

Turbulent Times: War and Expropriation

The 20th century brought profound changes for the manor house. During the Second World War, it served as a temporary hospital, and after the war, it was expropriated by the communist regime. The former owners were expelled, and the house was subsequently used for various purposes, including as a school and a residential building for multiple families. These years left their mark, and the building gradually fell into disrepair.

The Path to New Splendor: Restoration and Current Use

After the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification, the manor house was returned to the descendants of the original owners. A comprehensive and loving restoration began, which aimed to preserve the historical substance while adapting the house to modern needs. Today, the manor house in Gnevkow shines in new splendor and is used as a hotel and event venue. It offers its guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the history and elegance of a bygone era.
