The Historic Building: A Journey Through Time+
From Chamber Estate to Modern Landmark+

The landgravial chamber estate Ramsborn was established after the Thirty Years' War on the site of the village of Ramsborn, which had fallen into disuse during the war.

The estate, first mentioned in documents in 1650, served as an important agricultural center for the landgraves of Hesse-Kassel for centuries. It comprised extensive fields, meadows, and forests, as well as various farm buildings.

In the course of the 18th century, the estate was expanded and rebuilt several times. The impressive manor house, which still characterizes the appearance of the complex today, was built around 1750. It served as the residence of the estate administrator and as a representative venue for the landgraves.

With the end of the landgravial rule in the 19th century, the estate passed into private hands. It was subsequently used for various purposes, including as a brewery and a guesthouse.

In the 20th century, the building experienced a turbulent history. It was severely damaged during World War II and subsequently rebuilt. In the 1970s, it was converted into a modern hotel, which it still is today.

The historic building is an impressive example of Baroque architecture. The manor house is a two-story plastered building with a mansard roof and a central risalit.

The facade is adorned with rich stucco decorations, including pilasters, cornices, and window frames. The interior of the manor house also impresses with its magnificent stucco ceilings and wall paintings.

The former farm buildings, which today house the hotel's restaurant and other facilities, have also been preserved. They form an ensemble with the manor house that impressively reflects the history of the estate.

The Building Today: Hotel and Event Location+

Today, the historic building houses a modern hotel that combines historical charm with contemporary comfort. The hotel offers its guests individually furnished rooms and suites, a restaurant with regional cuisine, and various event rooms.
