Lichtenberg Manor
History of the Manor House+
The manor was owned by Balthasar Ludwig von Wendessen in the 18th century. Ownership then passed to Hans Anton Jochen von Arnim, and in 1835 to Christoph Meinke. Around 1840, Meinke had the manor house built on the foundations of a previous building. Ownership changed in 1880 to the Seip family, then to the Strasen family, and in 1939 to August Netzel. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Subsequently, refugees moved into the manor house. Later, the house was simply renovated in typical GDR style. It was used as a school and the headquarters of an LPG (Agricultural Production Cooperative).
