Kreckow Manor

The Kreckow Estate is one of the few completely preserved manor complexes in Mecklenburg, symmetrically baroque with a manor house, park, administrator's house, stables, and outbuildings. The manor house was built in 1744 by Wilhelm Ludwig von Bissing as a single-story baroque plastered building with a mansard roof and a high basement. From 1762 to 1934, it was owned by the Counts of Schwerin, mostly as a leased estate. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After this, the house served as a school from 1950-77 and as a kindergarten from 1970-93. In 1995, the house was sold privately.
