The estate was owned by the Hahn family until 1375. The manor house was built between 1896-98 according to plans by architects Dinklage and Grisebach for the Lords of Schnitzler. In 1913, a hall was added. In 1945, the last owner, Hedwig von Schnitzler, was dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After 1945, the manor house was used as accommodation for refugees. In 1968-69, the manor house was renovated and used as a training and holiday home. Later it stood empty and fell into disrepair. In 1995, the manor house was renovated and converted into a hotel.
