Kade Manor

The first documented mention of the originally Slavic village can be found in the feudal register of the Archdiocese of Magdeburg from 1381. The history of Kade is closely linked to the noble family of von Werder, who took over the estates of Kade, Belicke, and Buchholz as early as 1486 as a so-called sub-fief from the von Plotho family. The manor house, built at the end of the 18th century, and its associated park are still located in the center of the village today. Hans von Werder, who died in 1494, donated the altarpiece for the Kade church, which is considered the most valuable inventory item today. The two church bells, dating from 1667, were donated by Wolf von Werder. From 1758 to 1860, the von Werder family used the crypt of the Kade church as a burial site. It was not until 1812 that the estates of Kade and Belicke were sold to the von Treskow family and subsequently leased out by them. In 1945, the owners were forcibly dispossessed and expelled by the communists.
