Hohenbrünzow Manor

Hohenbrünzow was first mentioned in a document in 1248. The manor has always been owned by the von Schwerin family. From 1768, Captain Hans Bogislaw von Schwerin was lord of the Hohenbrünzow and Strehlow (pertinence) estates, from 1798 Lieutenant Carl August Bogislaw von Schwerin, from 1830 Hennig von Schwerin, and from 1858 the regional councillor Wilhelm von Schwerin. The estate comprised approximately 650 ha. The manor house was built in 1891 by Louis von Schwerin in a late-classical style, two-story with nine axes and a side stair tower. He managed the estate until his death in 1933. Afterwards, his son-in-law Hans-Ulrich Oertzen took over the entire complex and managed it until his flight to West Germany in 1945. In the post-war years, a vocational school was established in the house. Today, the manor house is privately owned and is currently being renovated.
