Groß Lüsewitz Manor

The manor house Groß Lüsewitz was first mentioned in a document in 1344. Until 1485, the estate was owned by the Lords of Tulendorf. After this, ownership changed to the Lords of Bevernest until 1670. In 1880, ownership changed to Gottlieb Friedrich Ferdinand Biermann. In 1895, the old manor house burned down and was rebuilt in the Neo-Renaissance style between 1896-98. In 1926, ownership changed to Hans Thyssen from Mülheim. In 1945, the owners were forcibly dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After this, the house served as an old TB sanatorium and institute for plant breeding. In 2012, the manor house was sold.
