Federow Manor

The manor house was built in 1845 and is located directly at the entrance of the Müritz National Park in Federow. It had numerous owners, including the nobleman Hermann von Maltzahn, the founder of the Müritz Museum in Waren. In 1926, ownership passed to the industrial and business manager Dr. Ing. h.c. Kurt Hermann, who was forcibly dispossessed and expelled by the communists in 1945. After this, the manor house served as accommodation for refugees. Later, a Konsum (cooperative store) was housed in the building and apartments were set up. Until 1999, hardly any renovation or refurbishment work was carried out on the manor house. In 1999, Rene Julitz and his family breathed new life into the manor house by establishing a restaurant business. In 2009, new tenants took over the manor house and extensively renovated it, reopening it as a castle hotel.
