Falkenhain Manor
History of the Manor House+
A manor house "Leonhardus de Valckenhayn" is first mentioned in a document in 1198. In 1284, the Falkenhain knight's estate is documented. From 1437 to 1685, the knight's estate was owned by the Lords of Minckwitz. In the second half of the 16th century, the manor house was built on the walls of an old castle. In 1761, the manor house was rebuilt. From 1815 until their forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, the estate was owned by the von Carlowitz family. Since 2004, the manor house has been used as a residential building.
