Chemnitz Manor

The manor house with three corner towers was built at the beginning of the 18th century. A previous building belonged to the nobleman Reiner Ernst von Voß. The current appearance was significantly shaped by the von Klinggräff family, who owned the manor house from 1702 until their forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945. A garden hall was added in the 19th century, and the three corner towers as well as the coat of arms above the main entrance were added during the renovation phase at the beginning of the 20th century. After World War II, tenants moved in, and the municipal administration as well as a cooperative store were also housed in the building. The manor house, which has been a listed building since 1997, is now left to decay. The impressive gatehouse is also increasingly falling into disrepair.
