Bossenhof Manor

The oldest farmstead presumably dates back to the drainage of the "Uedemer Brüche" by Dutch "Broekers" from the Utrecht area in the second half of the 13th century.

The name "Bossenhof" has been documented since at least 1793. In that year, according to records in the church books, Peter Kemkes, who later became a chaplain in Uedem, was born at Bossenhof.

For the last 100 years, Bossenhof was owned by the Reuter family. In 1906, the main house, which still stands today, was rebuilt.

After farmer Walter Reuter had to give up his dairy cattle and pig fattening business in 1994 due to health reasons, Irmgard and Jürgen Prüsse bought the farm and converted it into an equestrian facility, thereby reviving an old tradition, as Bossenhof had been a stallion station for local cold-blood breeding until the 1950s.

Today, Bossenhof is an equestrian facility specializing in the breeding of Westphalian warmbloods.
