Alt Karin Manor

The manor house was built in 1830. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.

The manor house of Groß Siemen is a two-story plastered building with 13 axes and a hipped roof. The central projection on the garden side is particularly striking, crowned by a triangular gable. The building was constructed in 1830 by the von Plüskow family. The von Plüskows were an old Mecklenburg noble family who had owned the Groß Siemen estate since the 18th century.

In 1945, the manor house was expropriated by the communist regime and subsequently used for various purposes. Among other things, it served as a refugee accommodation, a school, and a municipal administration building. During this time, the building underwent numerous structural changes that significantly altered its original appearance.

After the German reunification, the manor house was acquired by a private investor. He extensively renovated the building and restored it to its former glory. Today, the manor house of Groß Siemen is a private residence and not open to the public. However, it can be admired from the outside and is a popular photo motif for tourists.

The Park

The manor house is surrounded by a spacious park that was also laid out in the 19th century. The park features numerous old trees, a pond, and various sculptures. It is open to the public and invites visitors for a stroll.

Groß Siemen is a small village in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, surrounded by picturesque nature. The region is characterized by extensive forests, lakes, and fields. It offers numerous opportunities for hiking, cycling, and water sports. The Baltic Sea coast is also only a short drive away.
