Fugger Castle

A predecessor building is already mentioned in 954. The castle was built in 1580 by Count Severin Fugger. In 1726, a new building was constructed under the Rufini family. In 1805, the castle was converted into a district court building and today serves as a local court.

Main Building

The main building is a four-story plastered building with a hipped roof. It has a rectangular floor plan and is characterized by its simple, yet elegant facade.

Courtyard

The inner courtyard is surrounded by arcades on three sides, which were added in the 17th century. In the center of the courtyard is a fountain from the 18th century.

Great Hall

The Great Hall is located on the first floor and was originally used as a ballroom. It is decorated with elaborate stucco work and ceiling paintings from the 18th century.

Chapel

The castle chapel is located in the east wing and was consecrated in 1600. It contains an altar from the 17th century and several valuable paintings.

Today, the castle houses the local court and is therefore not open to the public. However, the courtyard can be visited during opening hours.
