The Freihaus Schwarzburger Hof was first mentioned in 1429 as being in the possession of the Counts of Schwarzburg. In 1810, the ducal chef Francois-Rene le Goullon opened the restaurant "Hotel de Saxe", which was called "Sächsischer Hof" from 1870 onwards. In 1945, the building was destroyed by a bombing raid and subsequently rebuilt. Owners were:

  • Family von Dieskau
  • Family von Witzleben
  • Family von Kalb
  • Family le Goullon
  • since 1971 in the possession of the Trommler family
