Herrenhaus Höckendorf+
Geschichte+

12. bis 19. Jahrhundert

A manor house in Höckendorf is already mentioned in 1195. An outwork is built between 1539-42. In 1662, the outwork was owned by Christoph Mendel. The property was damaged during the Thirty Years' War and subsequently rebuilt. In 1875, the property is referred to as a free estate. Thereafter, the property changed hands in 1878 to Ferdinand Koch and in 1881 to August Ziesche. In 1942, the NSDAP acquired the estate and used it as a youth hostel. After the war, the house was used as a school, kindergarten, municipal office, and library.
