Hatzeva Fortress, with its origins tracing back to the Solomonic era, is situated in the Southern region of Israel. This historic site offers a fascinating glimpse into the military architecture of various epochs.

History+

The earliest traces of a fortification at Hatzeva can be dated to the 10th century BCE, during the time of King Solomon. A second fortress was built here in the 8th century BCE, attributed to the Judean King Amaziah. In the 3rd century CE, the Romans significantly expanded the complex. The fortress was discovered in 1902 by Alois Musil during archaeological excavations.
