St. Peter
The Evangelical-Lutheran Church of St. Peter, formerly the church of the Carthusian monastery of Christgarten, is located in the Bavarian region of Donau-Ries. It represents the only preserved part of the former monastic complex and is a significant architectural monument.
History+
The current Church of St. Peter was originally the presbytery of the Carthusian monastery of Christgarten, an area reserved for the monks. This hall building, constructed around 1390, was separated from the lay church by a rood screen. The lay church was demolished in 1878, after which the chancel was closed. The monastery itself was dissolved in the 17th century.

The church is situated in Christgarten, a district of the municipality of Ederheim in the Donau-Ries district of Bavaria, Germany.

Today, the church appears as a three-bay nave, which is three-sidedly closed to the east. The west facade is supported by buttresses and houses the portal. Above the gable rises a bell turret containing a small church bell. Inside, a ribbed vault spans the space. The choir stalls date back to the construction period. An organ with eight registers, built in 1832 by the Sieber company from Holzkirchen/Ries, features a Neo-Gothic casing.
