Ehemaliges Pfarrhaus des Pfarrhofs von Gauting und Buchendorf

The monastery was founded on October 10, 2005, by Metropolitan Mark (Arndt) on a site leased from the Congregatio Jesu. The monastic community, currently comprising eleven to fifteen sisters, has been led by the Greek-born nun Maria (Sidiropulu) as superior since 2009. In addition to prayer and divine services, the monastery operates a prosphora bakery, a tailor shop, and a bookbindery. It also hosts a summer camp for girls aged eight to thirteen. The former rectory from 1857, a two-story gabled building with stepped gables, now houses the refectory, called Trapeza.

The monastery is situated in Buchendorf, a district of Gauting, in the Starnberg district of Bavaria, Germany. It adjoins the Catholic Church of St. Michael. The property covers approximately 1.4 hectares.

Part of the buildings has already been converted in the Orthodox style. The monastery currently has a chapel, with future plans for structural expansion, including a larger church. The building ensemble, which is partly a protected monument, previously served as a retirement home, among other things. The former rectory is a listed building in Bavaria.
