The establishment of the Teutonic Order Commandery of Goslar traces back to the Teutonic Order, which founded one of its branches here. As a commandery, it served not only as a spiritual hub but also as an administrative unit of the order. Over centuries, the monastery evolved into a crucial component of Goslar's urban history, significantly shaping the region's destiny until it lost its original function due to historical upheavals.
