The founding of the Dahnsdorf Commandery is dated to a period between 1227 and 1248. It served as a settlement for the Teutonic Order and was consecrated to Saints Mary, Elisabeth of Thuringia, and George. The dissolution and secularization of the Commandery took place between 1776 and 1778, marking the end of its monastic function.
