History+
The establishment of the Teutonic Order Commandery in Aschaffenburg was initiated by Damian Hugo von Schönborn, the Landkomtur of the Bailiwick of Aldenbiesen. He acquired the Dalberger Hof as early as 1716, but the official assignment to a Komtur did not occur until 1749. Johann Franz von Lamberg served as the first Komtur from 1749 to 1751, followed by Franz Heinrich von Hoensbroek, who held the office from 1751 to 1793. Financial irregularities that emerged under the second Komtur led to significant difficulties, preventing the Commandery from being re-assigned thereafter.
