Château La Gordanne (Perroy)

The castle was built in the 18th century. In 1791, Jean-Louis Fesquet sold the property to Countess Wilhelmine Golowkine. She lived there for some time until she sold the property to Jean-Rodolphe Perrottet in 1799. Later, the property passed to the Lord of Oyen, who had a long military career with the Dukes of Hesse-Darmstadt until 1848. He was also a diplomat in Russia. His wife gave him a county near Passau. Their two children died young. As an anti-Napoleonic, van Oyen had to leave the court of Darmstadt when the Emperor went to Munich in 1805. He retired to La Gordanne and only returned to Darmstadt in 1813.

Van Oyen sold La Gordanne in 1825 to Henri Isaac Mayor, who had some details of the buildings changed. The new owner had a spinning mill, stables, a gatekeeper's lodge by the roadside, and a small temple built. After his death in 1843, the castle passed to Georges Aristide Meuricoffre. In 1917, the property was sold to Mrs. Berthe Mercier. In 1985, the property changed hands to Manuel-Basil Mavroleon, who had the house restored in 1985-86. In 1998, another sale took place.
