Château de Ris

The Château de Ris, or Risse or Ristz, is a manor whose origin dates back to the mid-15th century, located in Besson, France.

The Château de Ris is located in the commune of Besson, in the Allier department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, 500 m west of the town.
Description+
The Château de Ris consists of a main building with large rooms with fireplaces, flanked by two round towers to the east and a stair turret to the west. Entrance door with hooked tympanum and pinnacles.
History+
From the 16th century until the mid-18th century, Ris belonged to the Troussebois family, originally from Souvigny. The castle was listed as a historical monument by decree on February 13, 1928.
