The Château de Pierregourde is the ruin of a hilltop castle in the municipality of Gilhac-et-Bruzac in the French department of Ardèche, about 12 kilometers southwest of Valence. It was built in the 13th century and destroyed in 1630 at the instigation of Cardinal Richelieu. The castle can be reached from Saint-Laurent-du-Pape via a narrow mountain road; from the parking lot, one still has to walk two kilometers. From the ruin, one has a good view of the Vercors, Mont Ventoux, the Trois Becs, and the valleys of the Eyrieux and the Rhône.
