Château de la Forêt
The Château de la Forêt is located in the municipality of Thaumiers in the French department of Cher.
The castle was originally built in the 15th century at a place called "La Forêt-Thaumiers". Three centuries later, it was rebuilt and is now surrounded by old moats, situated in an extensive English landscape garden with a small lake. Part of the structure and the south tower have not survived the test of time. As a result, the two remaining wings, meeting at a right angle, now open onto the large courtyard of honor, framed by hedges and lawns.
The current owner of the property is the company Château Accueil. It operates a hotel in the castle.
Thaumiers Castle has been registered as a Monument historique since December 1979.
