History+
The origins of Castle Rushen date back to the 13th century, when the Isle of Man was still under Norwegian rule. Over the centuries, the complex was continuously expanded and extended. Around 1990, extensive renovations were carried out, after which the castle was designated as a significant cultural heritage site of the island, a Manx National Heritage Site.
