The remains of the Castle can be visited

The Castello di Romeo is located near the Castello di Giulietta (Castello della Villa Castello della or Bellaguardia) in Montecchio Maggiore.

The two castles were built in 1008 and was owned by the family Pilei. 1243 the castles were destroyed of Ezzelino III da Romano. After his death in 1259 the ownership changed again to the Pilei family. In the summer of 1514 Venetian troops destroyed the castles.
