Castel del Gatto, also known as Katzenzungen, is a historic castle located in the picturesque Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy. It is distinguished by its long history and elaborate restoration, which today makes it a popular venue for events.

History+

The first documented mention of Castel Katzenzungen dates back to 1244. In the 13th century, it was considered one of the most significant noble residences in the region. Originally owned by the Cazenzunge family, it later passed to the Lords of Fink and von Schlandersberg. In the 16th century, the castle came into the possession of the Lords of Breisach, who transformed it into a magnificent Renaissance estate. After the extinction of the Breisach family, Castel del Gatto lost its importance and gradually fell into disrepair until it was extensively restored starting in 1978.
