Turmberg Castle
The Turmberg ruin is the ruin of a hilltop castle 500 meters southeast of Aichelberg near Bad Boll, in the district of Göppingen in Baden-Württemberg.
The castle is located at 608.8 m above sea level, above the village on the ridge of the Turmberg of the same name, south of Aichelberg, a mountain in the Swabian Jura. Below the ruin lies Aichelberg Castle, built in 1210 on the Aichelberg, above the village of Aichelberg. Both Aichelberg and Turmberg are sculpted remnants of former volcanic vents of the Swabian Volcano.
Turmberg Castle was built around 1200 by the Lords of Aichelberg, came into the possession of the Counts of Württemberg in 1334, fell into disrepair and later became the property of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Of the former complex, remnants of ramparts and moats, as well as minor remains of the core masonry, are still visible. The castle site, surrounded by a circular moat and now freely accessible, has a diameter of approximately 10 to 15 meters. A square tower, probably the keep, in the northern area of the complex occupied a square base area of 8 to 10 meters side length.
