Rodoni Castle (Kalaja e Rodonit)
The Rodoni Castle Ruin, also known as Kalaja e Rodonit, represents the remains of a historic fortification located on Cape Rodon in Albania. Its history is marked by destruction and reconstruction, making it a testament to past military conflicts.
History+
The original castle was built in 1450 under the patronage of George Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Just seventeen years later, in 1467, the complex fell victim to attacks by Ottoman troops and was destroyed. Around 1500, the castle was rebuilt by the Republic of Venice, thereby securing its presence in the region.

The Rodoni Castle Ruin is situated in Shetaj, in the Durrës district, in the Durrës region of Albania. It is located at an elevation of approximately 1 meter above sea level, directly on Cape Rodon.
