History of the Castle+

The castle ruin of the Lords of Reurieth, first mentioned in documents in 1171, stands on the edge of the village near the church. Later, the Hennebergers owned the castle, which was destroyed in the Peasants' War. The Lords of Heldburg rebuilt it, but since the 19th century, it has been a ruin. The north tower and remains of the curtain wall are still standing.
