Münstereifel Castle
Burg Münstereifel was built as early as 1273. In the Palatinate War of Succession, French troops destroyed the medieval castle in 1689. After that, the castle was no longer rebuilt in its original form. It was used as a residence by the bailiffs as much as possible. In 1879, a hall was added to the castle, and in 1913, a castle tavern was added for the first time. Only after 1955 were reconstruction measures taken that present the castle's current appearance.
Today, the castle is a tourist magnet for the city of Bad Münstereifel, with a restaurant, panoramic terrace, and a mustard mill, as well as the production of other fine foods.
