Lomersheim Castle
The Lomersheim castle ruin, also called Rotenburg, is the ruin of a hilltop castle on a southwest-facing spur of the northern Enz valley slope above the Lomersheim district (Turmstraße-Burggraben) of the municipality of Mühlacker in the Enz district (Baden-Württemberg).
The castle was built approximately in the 11th to 12th century by the Lords of Lomersheim, who were vassals of the Counts of Vaihingen and were attested from 1147 to 1634. The castle was destroyed in 1525 during the German Peasants' War and the tower was blown up in 1817. Today, the castle ruin still shows the stump of the residential tower and remnants of the curtain walls down to the village.
