The Castle in Gräfenhainichen+
The castle in Gräfenhainichen was built in the 13th century by the Princes of Anhalt and was first mentioned in a document in 1325. In 1637, the Swedes destroyed it during the Thirty Years' War. After this, the castle was not rebuilt. Owners in the 14th century included the von Schlichting family, followed by the Margraves of Meissen, in 1558 Heinrich von Gleißenthal, and in the 17th century the Lords of Mücheln.
