In 1237, Stefan von Maissau issues a document "in castro Vuosperch". The Fuchs, feudal tenants of the Maissauer, are allegedly first mentioned in 1290 with Friedrich der Fuchs. However, a document from Duke Leopold VI already mentions an Otto Fuchs in 1210, who may be related to this location.
In 1301, Ulrich der Fuchs von Fuchsberg is mentioned, and in 1313, Almar is the castellan of Fuchsberg. In 1320, Alramus is referred to as the court judge of Fuchsberg, or as "Alramus Castelanus in Fuchsberg". In 1375, Reinbot, the court judge of Fuchsberg, is still mentioned. The exact time of abandonment is not known, but can be presumed for the late Middle Ages based on the existing structure. The current landowner is the Hoyos family.
