Die Burg Bottenstein wurde im 13. Jahrhundert im Auftrag der Herren von Aarbug erbaut. Um 1460 wurde die Burg verlassen und zerfiel zu einer Ruine, von der nur die Grundmauern erhalten geblieben sind.
