The origins of Borsh Castle date back to the 4th century BC. In the 6th century AD, the complex underwent significant expansion and reinforcement under the rule of the Roman Emperor Justinian. Its strategic importance became evident in 1431 when the castle was captured by the Ottoman Turks.
