Schatzberg Castle
The Burgrest Schatzberg, also called Schatzburg, refers to the ruins of a spur castle on a 703 m above sea level high spur 1600 meters southeast of the Egelfingen district of the municipality of Langenenslingen in the Biberach district in Baden-Württemberg.
The castle was built in the middle of the 13th century by the Lords of Schatzberg, mentioned in 1267 and burned down in 1442. Further owners were the Counts of Montfort and Habsburg.
The former castle complex had a curtain wall with a thickness of 0.9 meters and a keep with a base area of 9.5 by 7.5 meters and a wall thickness of 2 meters.
