Emerkingen Castle
Burgrest Emerkingen refers to the castle ruin of Emerkingen Castle, also known as Römerturm (Roman Tower), located in a meadow in the middle of the municipality of Emerkingen in the Alb-Donau-Kreis in Baden-Württemberg.
The former moated castle was presumably built before 1100 by Heinrich von Emerkingen. In the first half of the 14th century, the lords of Emerkingen erected the keep as a residential tower. Nothing remains of the moated castle. The keep received a clock and a bell in 1921.
