Boos von Waldeck Manor

The manor house of the Lords Boos von Waldeck was built in 1551. In 1620, the side portal was added, and in the 18th century, the pavilion structures were erected.

The building is a prime example of Renaissance architecture in the region, showcasing typical elements of the era. Over the centuries, it underwent several modifications, reflecting changing architectural styles and the needs of its inhabitants.

The Renaissance Core (1551)

The original structure from 1551 features robust stone walls and a steeply pitched roof, characteristic of Renaissance manor houses. Traces of original frescoes are still visible in some interior rooms, hinting at the building's former grandeur.

Baroque Additions (17th and 18th Centuries)

The side portal, added in 1620, introduces Baroque elements with its ornate carvings and decorative pilasters. The 18th-century pavilion buildings further exemplify the Baroque style, providing additional living space and enhancing the overall symmetry of the complex.

Today, the Boos von Waldeck Manor House serves as a cultural center and museum, open to the public. It hosts various exhibitions and events throughout the year, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich history of the region.
