From the Middle Ages to the Prussian Domain
The origins of the water castle date back to the early 14th century. From 1595, Matthias von Oppen transformed it into a model agricultural estate. In 1810, the castle became a Prussian domain. The building substance, decimated by demolition during the GDR era, has been maintained and renovated by the local communities since 1990.
